Step 1: Prepare the Surface

Wear safety glasses and a mask to protect yourself from dust. Remove any hardware from the furniture. Clean the surface thoroughly with a teak cleaner to remove dirt, grime, and any existing finish. Allow the cleaner to penetrate for the recommended time, then wipe it clean with a soft cloth.

Step 2: Sanding

Choose an electric sander appropriate for the size and shape of your furniture. Start with 80-grit sandpaper to remove the damaged surface layer. Gradually move to 120-grit and then 220-grit sandpaper to refine the surface. Always sand in the direction of the wood grain to avoid cross-grain scratches.
