How to Recover Your Patio Cushions

Patio cushions are a great way to add comfort and style to your outdoor space. But over time, even the most well-maintained cushions can start to show signs of wear and tear. Before you begin, you’ll need to gather a few supplies. You’ll need new fabric, foam inserts, a sewing machine, thread, and a measuring tape. You may also want to have a staple gun on hand to secure the fabric to the cushions.

Once you have your supplies, you’re ready to begin. The first step is to remove the old fabric from the cushions. To do this, simply unzip the cushions or remove the Velcro straps that are holding the fabric in place.

Once the old fabric is removed, you can measure the cushions to determine how much new fabric you’ll need. Be sure to add a few inches to each measurement to allow for seams.

Once you have cut the new fabric, you can begin sewing it to the cushions. Start by sewing the two long sides of the fabric together. Then, sew the two short sides together. Be sure to leave a small opening in one of the seams for inserting the foam inserts.

Once the fabric is sewn together, you can insert the foam inserts. Be sure to stuff the cushions firmly so that they are comfortable to sit on.

Once the foam inserts are in place, you can sew the opening in the seam closed. To do this, simply fold the fabric over the opening and sew it down.
