How to Fix Patio Chair Straps

Relaxing in the sun on your patio can be a great way to enjoy the outdoors. However, if the straps on your patio chairs are broken, it can be a real pain. Fortunately, fixing patio chair straps is a relatively easy and inexpensive task that you can do yourself with a few simple tools.

Materials Needed:

New patio chair straps
Measuring tape
Scissors
Drill
Screws
Washers

Instructions:

Measure the old straps. The first step is to measure the old straps so that you can purchase new ones of the same size. To do this, simply measure the length of the strap from one end to the other.
Cut the new straps. Once you have measured the old straps, you can cut the new straps to the same length. Be sure to cut the straps at a slight angle so that they will be easier to thread through the holes in the chair frame.
Thread the new straps through the holes. With the new straps cut, you can now thread them through the holes in the chair frame. Be sure to start at one end of the chair and work your way to the other end.
Drill holes for the screws. Once the straps are threaded through the holes, you will need to drill holes for the screws. Be sure to drill the holes in the center of the straps so that the screws will be secure.
Screw in the screws. With the holes drilled, you can now screw in the screws. Be sure to use washers under the screws so that they will not pull through the straps.
Tighten the screws. Once the screws are in place, you can tighten them using a screwdriver. Be sure to tighten the screws securely, but do not overtighten them or you may damage the straps.
Enjoy your patio chairs. With the new straps in place, you can now enjoy relaxing in your patio chairs again.
