How To Clean Mold On Patio Cushions

Mold can be a common problem for patio cushions, especially if they are left outdoors for long periods of time. It can cause the cushions to look unsightly and can also be harmful to your health. If you notice mold on your patio cushions, it is important to clean it as soon as possible.

Mild detergent

Create a cleaning solution. In a bucket or bowl, mix together 1 cup of mild detergent with 1 gallon of warm water. If the mold is particularly stubborn, you can add 1/2 cup of bleach to the solution. Alternatively, you can use 1 cup of vinegar instead of bleach.
Clean the cushions. Dip a microfiber cloth into the cleaning solution and wring it out so that it is damp but not dripping. Dry the cushions. Allow the cushions to air dry completely before using them again. Do not put them in the dryer, as this can damage the fabric.

If the mold is particularly stubborn, you can try using a baking soda paste. Mix together equal parts baking soda and water to form a paste. Apply the paste to the moldy areas and let it sit for several hours. Once the paste has dried, vacuum it up.
