How to Lay a Patio on Grass: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Prepare the Site

Clear the grass area of any debris, such as rocks, sticks, or plants. Mark the perimeter of the patio with stakes and string. Level the ground within the marked area using a rake or leveling tool.

Step 2: Remove the Grass

Remove the grass within the marked area using a sod cutter or sharp spade. Dig down approximately 4 inches to expose the soil underneath. Compact the soil using a plate compactor or hand tamper.
